Is this accepted for my license?

Continuing-education approval is stated on each individual course page and applies only to the course it appears on. Requirements differ by state, license type and renewal cycle, so check what your board asks for before you enroll — the RN & LPN lane lists what the larger state boards require, side by side.

How fast can I finish?

Everything is online and self-paced, and you can stop and restart wherever you left off. Course lengths in the nursing lane run from a single contact hour — Surgical Positioning is one sitting — up to twenty. There is no cohort to wait for and no class date to attend.

How do I get my certificate?

Finish the course, pass the end-of-course exam, and the certificate appears in your account to download or print. Exams are stated up front — 5 to 100 randomized questions, depending on the course, 80% to pass — and attempts are unlimited within your one-year access, so a rough first sit costs you nothing.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy professional development

Recorded hypnotherapy training for credentialed practitioners: pain applications, stress and working with children. Surviving Stress and Hypnosis for Children are professional-development programs and are not offered for continuing-education credit; the pain program is 20 contact hours for nurses.

State mandates

One requirement we build against

Most CE is bought to satisfy a rule. This is the rule our course work is aimed at — stated as the rule states it, with our own status shown honestly.

Michigan — 2 pain-management hours, every renewal

Mich. Admin. Code R 338.10601(2) requires that not less than 2 of the 25 hours a Michigan RN or LPN needs each renewal period be in pain and pain symptom management. The rule’s own list of topics includes the psychology of pain, behavior modification, stress management and clinical applications.

Whether a hypnosis-modality course satisfies that requirement is not yet confirmed in writing by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
