  • Pain Management Workshop is a 5 CE course discussing the use of hypnosis for pain management. Taught by Ron Eslinger.

    Course Content:

    The Challenge of pain management is disabling chronic pain. The pain experiences multifactorial and the importance of controlling pain is addressed by discussing JACHO and pain the 5th vital sign.

    Why hypnosis? Hypnosis was endorsed by the AMA in 1958 noting that is a mind-body therapy that can change the stress response, improve healing, and facilitate rapid recovery from surgery gives the patient control through an altered state of consciousness, which is realistic for 80% of the population. Cognitive issues, pain theories and phantom limb pain are discussed.

    Individuals produce different amounts of neurotransmitters such as serotonin endorphin and melatonin; pain management strategies such as pharmacological invasive and ascetic procedures and integrative medicine are discussed, including pain assessment tools.

    Stress symptoms both physical and psychological can have a major effect on pain management. Hypnosis is an effective tool for headaches, back pain and irritable bowl syndrome.

    Pain management is greatly affected by the Pain Brain Connection. This DVD describes the Limbic System. Its parts and Its effect on the management of chronic pain, including the release of Cortisol and other stress hormones.
